Finish Strong: How to End the Year with Intention and Strength
As I was reflecting on the year, I remembered how I used to write off the last six weeks when it came to my nutrition and wellness goals. Maybe you can relate?
The holidays would roll around, routines would shift, and I’d tell myself, “I’ll start again in the new year.”
But several years ago, I decided to shift my mindset.
Instead of asking, “How ready am I to start another diet (or fill in the blank)?” I began asking, “How strong can I feel on January 1st?”
That one question changed everything.
It reminded me that the last six weeks of the year are not a lost cause—they’re an opportunity. They’re a bridge between who we’ve been and who we’re becoming. A chance to finish strong, not by pushing harder or being perfect, but by showing up for ourselves with intention, grace, and consistency.
A Mindset Shift for Any Goal
Maybe your focus isn’t nutrition or fitness.
Maybe it’s a career goal, a personal growth intention, or a deeper spiritual practice. Whatever your focus, the principle is the same: the way you finish the year sets the tone for how you begin the next.
So rather than waiting for January to “start over,” what if you chose to end this year on purpose?
The Finish Strong Challenge
To help us do just that, I created a simple yet powerful Finish Strong Challenge.
Here’s how it works:
We’ll each set three goals:
A Stretch Goal — The one that inspires you, challenges you, and helps you grow.
A Realistic Goal — Something you can confidently commit to.
An “I Showed Up and Did Something” Goal — For the days when life happens, and you simply want to honor your effort.
This approach allows for flexibility, progress, and compassion. Because life isn’t all or nothing—and your worth isn’t measured by perfection.
Whether your goal is to move your body more, nourish yourself with whole foods, meditate each morning, or simply be more present with the people you love—let’s do it together.
Let’s finish this year strong, grounded, and proud of the choices we made.
